This is my site dedicated to people who want to lose weight the easy way!
I was 17stone for over 6 years before I got my act together and lost weight. I starting my path to weight loss
by going to the gym but I found myself out of place. I know it sounds silly but I feel like gyms are for people who
are already fit not for people who want to drop 2-3 stone or a couple of dress sizes.
So I thought about hiring a personal instructor but at $30-50 an hour I just couldn't afford that working as a
taxi driver. So I went online and searched around until I found some interesting videos on youtube. It seemed alot
of people were losing weight just watching workout videos like tae-bo and pilates etc but thing I noticed was to do
the workout you needed to buy some special gym ball or ab machine to go with it...rip off!
So I checked the internet again and found some interesting ebooks promising to "burn the fat" or "lose weight
fast!" but the funny thing was they worked for me! I found that if you anylise exactly how you eat (and drink!) you
can quickly figure out how to cut down your fat intake.
I developed a a simple 2 step plan I still live by:
Step 1- I cut down my daily fat intake and reduced my calories. Theres loads of free
calorie calculators out there see here- and when I realised by changing my alcohol intake from drinking every
second week and switching to spirits instead of cider or beer I already cut out 30% of my weekly fat intake. If
Your a big drinker of beer understand that every pint you drink equals 200calories or 1 snickers bar! So how many
pints do you drink a night?
Step 2- I Burned my fat! You can diet and cut down all you want, but unless you want to
starve yourself to an unhealthy degree then diet or as I like to call it "eat correctly" Theres also a
mis-conception behind exercise. YOU DON'T NEED TO KILL YOURSELF TO EXERCISE! Adding a simple walk i.e take the
stairs instead of the lift, park you car 1 mile away from the office, it might save you some parking costs and it
will kick start your matabolism for your day.

Simple and smart ways to diet-
- Don't fry your food! bake, boil, steam, poach or gril (george foremans are great for draining the fat out
of your food!)
- Spread your butter or margerine more lightly, dont put so much on!
- Look for "leaner" cuts of meat in the supermarket. You can also freeze your meat to see what exactly is fat
(the fat will turn white)
- Use skimmed milk instead of full fat or cream! Very easy..
- Buy skinless chicken or turkey, about half the fat in chicken is actually hidden the skin so dump it!
- Dry fry mincemeat and pour off the fat as it cooks.
- Beans have the same protein as meat but less fat.
- Swap your lunch time pack of crisps or chips for a nice bit of fruit.
- Read labels on food, just comparing crisp packets look at the per 100g fat content and you'll see some
packets are as low a 22g and others 65g.
- Place bowls of fruit around your house, you'll notice how you'll start eating fruit while watching tv
instead of junk food and consider a bowl of vegtables at your dinner table too.
- When your at the cinema- 100g of popcorn is actualy 45g of fat! That is huge, buy wine gums or fruit
pastilles instead which have only traces of fat.
- If your at a restaurant- ask for your veg without butter and your coffee with milk instead of cream and
you'll save 20g of fat (half a chocolate bar)
- When getting a pizza- skip the garlic bread when your dinning and you'll save a full tablespoon of butter
and blot the top of your pizza with a tissue/serviet and you'll save 4.5g of fat per slice.
- Kebab shop- get the chicken shish kebab and salad and thats 10g of fat or go for the doner kebab (my fave)
and thats 50g of fat!
- Burger place- Get it flamed grilled and hold the mayo and your looking at 12g of fat which is
fantastic!
Remember with dieting your losing something, but with exercise your only gaining!
Make sure whatever exercise you try to start taking up is one you like to do, dont try and go swimming more
often cause if you don't like then your gona find excuses not to go. I love running and thats my exercise of
choice, even if I'm very busy I still find time go for a quick run, sometimes at 1am before bed!
Dont pretend you can't spare 40 minutes of time every day to exercising because you can! If you have kids bring
them with you, thats what prams are for. If you need shopping walk or cycle. There is always time, even if your
cooking you could still crack out a skipping rope and do 10 minutes of practicing your technique. And you think
skipping is abit girly take a look at boxers! Its harder than swimming.
Buy the right gear and avoid the excuses. If its raining buy a rain jacket and dont use that excuse again (the
rain cools you down anyway) and if your feet are sore then buy insoles or preferably some decent runners designed
for walking/running any asics runner will do for a novice starting out.
Set some realistic goals for yourself, dont say I'm going to run a marathon by christmas if you really cant, say
I want to lose 1/2 a stone and start proper marathon training by christmas. Be realistic otherwise if you don't
meet your goal your going to give up and fall into bad habits, so be kind to yourself.
